Here are the things you need to do to get BzeRo (bzero) installed on Windows.

Go to http://www.python.org/download/ and download the Windows installer. Run it and let it install itself somewhere.

Go to http://www.myelin.co.nz/bzero/ and download the latest package (it'll be called something like bzero-x.xx.tar.gz).

It doesn't require much installation. Just extract the files somewhere. WinZip? will extract .tar.gz files just fine.

You'll need to go to the command line in the directory you just extracted bzero into. The main file is called just "bzero" (no extension). Run 'python bzero' to get some instructions.

d:\bzero\> python bzero

Now you can follow the unix instructions to get a blog going. Basically you need to say:

python bzero new blogname email-address password

That will create a blog on the PythonCommunityServer. If you want to create a blog on another server, say:

python bzero new blogname email-address password ''community-server-RPC2-url

e.g.

python bzero new radio_blog radio@foo.com foo http://radio.xmlstoragesystem.com/RPC2

That will create you a new blog on radio.weblogs.com. I wouldn't recommend that though; it's not polite ;-)

Run:

python bzero setup blogname

and put in your name and the blog name. You'll need to put the blog name in twice, sorry.

python bzero post blogname

This should open up your favourite editor (defaults to notepad.exe on Windows, but if you set the EDITOR environment variable to point to something, it will use that instead). Once you're done, you'll want to push the post up to the server:

python bzero send blogname

Yeah, upstreaming isn't automatic. That's because you might want to do something else before sending it. You can make a batch file that calls 'post' and then 'send' if you like though :)
