Getting PuTTY to work well with FreeBSD

My SSH client doesn't like FreeBSD very much - the DEL key seems to be treated the same as the '~', and colours don't work.

Here's how to fix it.

chrooted Debian install (on Red Hat)

Someone mentioned this concept to me a while back: you can run different Linux distributions simultaneously. You can run Debian on top of a Red Hat install (if you really like apt-get but want to use one of the JohnCompanies Linux partitions, perhaps).
