Auto-discoverability for topic servers

Ben Trott talks about improving the discoverability of topic servers like the [[Topic Exchange]], and suggests two possible methods for [[Movable Type]]:

  1. MT could contact the ITE and get it to suggest a topic for each post that people make.

  2. MT could cache a list of topics and let people choose to associate their posts with them

I like #2, and it’s how Georg’s [[PyDS]] blogging tool does it. It’s how [[liveTopics]] does it (or will, once we sort everything out and everyone gets some more spare time). Hmm …
